Podcast – Music

music_notes

Since this week our topic is music, I’ve decided that our podcast should be somehow connected to music. So, let’s not waste time and get things going by clicking here to listen to the podcast.

Your task is to write about a concert or show you’ve been to recently or a while ago. But, if you haven’t been to a concert you can easily make one up.

Here’s the list of vocabulary and chunks that I might be useful while you are writing your comment.

* venue

    Last year my husband’s brother Fernando came to visit us in Toronto. Because his birthday was a week before we made up our minds to go to the Eric Clapton’s Concert.We were so excited abou it that we get to the Molson Amphitheatre really early, then unexpectedly we got in a huge line.We waited and waited and finally a guy checked out tickets. When we came in,we saw how big is the place. It was on end of may but surprisily was so cold that we almost froze there, because it was a outdoor concert. During the number 4 my husband Felipe tried to buy a hot chocolate for us, but it was insipid to drink!We were about to leave but when Eric Clapton started to sing Layla and then Cocaine we were happy campers!

    Last October, on the same week that my birthday, the MTV Latin Music Awards was executed in Guadalajara for first time. When I knew that it’d happen, I tried to get tickets but suddenly I realized that it wasn’t possible to buy tickets, the only way to get was to participate in contests on the radio or other ones throw by different brands.

    I was resigned; it would be almost impossible going to the concert. However, a couple of weeks before it was the concert presented, people from MTV came to my university and I got a ticket, luckily the most of my friends got one too, so we could go too.

    It was the most expected concert in years and we had tickets for free. The day of the event we arrived early because we don’t want to have problems about parking, we got to the place, we parked the car, and we were wandering looking for the line, when we saw it, it was amazing, a huge line of more than a thousand people and thousand more walking around trying to get tickets. We continue walking, and suddenly we found to other friends, we stopped and got with them.

    After 3 hours in the line we finally entered to the hall of the amphitheater, the bouncers put on a wrist band to each one and we got in another line, we was waiting, when a guy came and ask us to follow him, we wouldn’t know why, but we did it. The guy gave us a shirt and told us to walk very quickly and follow him because we had to stay in the zone of the red carpet as soon as possible. When we were walking, people outside started boo-ing us, it was a riot there but nobody cared.

    Finally we arrived in the red carpet zone that was really enjoyable and so cool, everybody was cheering to the artists and celebrities, and we were happy campers. After the red carpet, we got into the concert and award ceremony and it turned out to be an unforgettable day.

    One of my best concert I’ve ever had it´s when I went to see “the New Kids on the Block” (yea I Now.. may be everybody are laughing at me right now), in fact; I went with my two brothers and my father; could you imagine that picture?
    We had been waiting for that concert a long time because it was one of the first Americans bands, which performed in Mexico City; so we went to a big venue, called “El Palacio de los Deportes”; very excited by the way; we arrived very early, a bunches of bouncers were outside of the place, some big guys and strong as well, I don’t know why but almost all these guys bald.
    I remember was crowd, we got in line and when we got in the head of it they checked ours tickets. We got in and that place, by the way it was so huge. At the time when the concert started another band performed, they did the opening act, I think was awful because I don’t remember their name. The big show started when the New Kids on the block come on stage!! (I know it´s not a great band! I was 14 and it was my first concert like I said) their fist number was a great song! And to make a long story short I enjoy the concert whit the biggest groupie of that band…. My dad hehehehe!

    Hey, I was looking at your article and I was wondering how you cropped your picture. I’m new to WordPress and I have absolutely no idea how to do that; would you mind telling me?
